Progressive Fighting Systems

George Lacy is an honorably discharged Navy veteran. He has been with Progressive Fighting Systems since 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Longwood University (Farmville, VA). Further, he holds a Masters of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary (St. Louis, MO).

He is an ordained minister and has over a decade of pastoral and counseling experience. He currently teaches English in a therapeutic day school in central Virginia that specializes in assisting students with behavior, educational, and emotional challenges, while continuing to exercise his pastoral and counseling training.

In addition to his Apprentice Instructor certification, Rev. Lacy holds certification in Military/Law Enforcement Knife Fighting, as well as the Clinch-Ground Rapid Assault Tactics scroll. He is certified in Therapeutic Options of Virginia's program that equips teachers, staff, and others to protect and restrain combative individuals as safely as possible.

He has been married to his wife, Charlotte, for over twenty years, and is the father of four (Magnolia, Penelope, Amos, and Malachi). He has a strong desire to partner with individuals and small groups in order to open their eyes to how accessible self-protection training is for the inexperienced and untrained, and seeks to bridge that gap through intensely personal mentorship and instruction.
